This is the main airport for Bucharest , all international flights arrive at Henri Coanda (Otopeni) Airport.

Located at 18km from Bucharest city center, the airport is conneccted directly to all major European cities and with other continents by direct flights connetion airports in Europe.

Romanian Air Transport (TAROM) is the national flight company, servicing much of the European capitals from its home base in Bucharest. Domestic flights are also operated by TAROM from/to Cluj-Napoca (CLJ), Iasi (IAS), Oradea (OMR), Satu Mare (SUJ), Sibiu (SBZ), Timisoara (TSR) .



Express Bus 783 offers daily service to the city centre, with stops at Baneasa Airport, Piata Presei Libere, Piata Victoriei, Piata Romana, Piata Universitatii and Piata Unirii. Bus 783 leaves from the Arrivals terminal every 15 to 20 minutes (every 40 minutes between 10:00p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (40 minutes trip)

Instructions: Buy a public transportation card ("Activ Card") for 3.70 Lei (about 0.8 E) available from at the 'RATB' ticket booth in the arrivals terminal or next to the bus stop. You will have to add money to your Activ Card, 3.5 Lei for one way trip to Bucharest or 7 Lei for round trip. Your Activ card must be validated as you board the bus.

The bus ticket booth is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.


  • 1. The taxi must have the prices displayed inside and outside on the door.
  • 2. Ensure yourself that the taximeter is started at the begeneing of your trip.
  • 3. Order a taxi from the Taxi Desk or from the touch screen computer.
  • 4. If you are asked to pay more than you think you should ask the driver for the receipt.

If you choose to travel by train you will arrive in Bucharest Nord Station , the main train station in Bucharest. Located at 4 km from city center , the rail station offers you daily connections with the main cities of Romania and Europe. You can buy your same-day tickets at the train station or buy online from here.

From Bucharest Nord station you can reach any place of the city by subway, tram or bus.
